Fold, roll or bundle? Wrap in tissue or plastic ?
1. I like to fold using tissue paper for delicate items. Lay the item face down and place tissue paper on top . Fold it up with the tissue paper inside. Use an additional layers of paper as you fold the garment so it is completely wrapped in and around paper. Only use this approach for evening clothes.
Rolling works well with trousers, skirts and t.shirts. Lay the items face down, fold back the sleeves and then roll from the bottom up.
You can reduce crease at your destination by hanging items in a steamy bathroom, but you do have to persevere. Once clothing is slightly damp, give it a couple of sharp shakes and pull into shape.
The key is not to over-pack: squashed clothes are creased clothes.
2. Shoes , pack in fabric shoe bags , keeps the rest of your clothes from getting dirty. You often get these bags free when you buy designer shoes or bags ...so keep hold of them because they are useful.
3. I also pack an empty plastic bag for my dirty washing , so I don't have to sort through what needs cleaning when I get home as its all together in one bag . I do this for the kids as well.
4. Bikini bags ( zip up sandwich bags do ) to put your various different bikini's in. As you leave your holiday, tuck your damp bikini into the clear plastic zip-lock bag and then you can put it straight in to your suitcase.
5. Styling book . Having a book with photographs of your holiday outfits including accessorise so each day you have a plan of what to wear and so only packing what you need . Check out Voila Style Book service.
