The Sales

Voila's sale picks....My advice is try and update and buy classic pieces to add to your essential wardrobe. Don't bother with already low priced items that where £15 now £10 you want to get some real bargains from those more expensive brands.
Basic items to look out for are: leather jackets or skirt,
Good quailty shirts from Jcrew and
definitely stock up on some cotton t.shirts.That perfect white dress and that simple black evening dress. Designer jewellery and shoes and even that luxury handbag.

Make a list of a few items you could do with or need to update and start browsing the net. These websites would be my first go to point

Outnet     Browns       Net a Porter
   Matches        Comptoir       J Crew
Whistles         lk Bennett

Don't be scared to ask for a further discount because most shops are happy to move the stock on ready for AW15 to arrive and you might just catch them when they are going to mark down further.
Good luck in the sales!

Nike Air Max  £105

Nike £67

Nike £80

The grown up trainers
These are the trainers for us more mature ladies, by that I mean any one over 30! If you are one of my clients you will now how much I bang on about superga trainers. But to me they are an essential in your wardrobe. A white pair for summer and a navy or khaki for winter. Once you get them you will realise how they just go with everything and make your outfits look stylish instantly. I have clients who range from in their 30's to 65 and they are now Superga converts, they love them.

Layers

I'm a big fan of layering jackets under coats to create different looks. I popped this thin uniqlo down jacket under my smart suit jacket to create a more urban look for a party this weekend. I still made it look glam with a pair of silk black trousers and my green zara heels from last season . It's that idea of mixing smart with casual ...my favourite way of dressing.

My weekend must have

Bought this new swimming costume last week from American Apparel . I love the low cut back, its simple shape with just a hint of sexiness . I'm a big fan of their swim wear  range as it's not old fashioned or middle aged styles. If you are like me I don't like wearing a bikini when I go swimming with the kids to the public swimming baths, I just feel a bit silly so I always wear a one piece. But I'm also young and still want to look a little sexy and chic, this combination is hard to find. So my handy tip for a sexy fun swimsuit is take a look at AA but you might have to ignore their interesting poses on the website and just look at the style !! I went up a size as they come up quite small.  They have the same swimming costume in just plain colours if this one is a little risky. I just can't resist a little leopard print in my life !!

Styling tip

Now every year I seem to miss this vital transitional trend of bare legs with ankle boots. You have about a 5 week window from now to pull it off then I'm afraid we will be in tights. I really love this look as more often than not you still have a lovely glow to your skin from your summer holidays and all those dresses you find hard to style in winter just look super easy and chic !

Styling Tip : My transitional pieces - An oversized sweater dress and ankle boots..go,go,go !!

Shop my style

As the summer is drifting away and there is now a definite chill in the air come the evenings, I'm insistent on dragging  out my summer Zara shorts till the bitter end.  I 'm wearing it with a new season long sleeve crop top from Zara

Styling Tip: Take a look at my AW13 trends to look out  for this season on  Martini Mum !

Holiday
This weekend has been taken up with packing for holiday and squeezing in teaching Pilates. When packing for holiday's, when you have kids, you have to be super organised! I usually start about a week before with writing a list. This is an out fit list 7 day looks and 7 evening . I find this helps me pack just what I need and it also means I don't have to think about what to wear on hols . I do the same with the kids packing. I always get my nails done before  holidays so I don't have to think about reapplying chipped nail varnish when we are away and I just feel it finishes off any look .

Perfect 10
Your beautiful basics

NINE:The flat shoe. A fashion staple.
Now I'm not a big fan of ballet pumps so I tend to go for more loafer type flats. The Slipper flats seem to be taking over from the classic ballet pump these days and the biggest trend of the moment is Trainers ...New Balance, Nike and even the classic Superga....Now thats more my style !!

Zara- tiger slippers £17.99

Kurt Geiger - lucca trainers £85  VOILA LOVES

I bought these last spring and i've worn them with everything and I always get stopped and asked where they are from.

Perfect 10
Your beautiful basics

EIGHT : The Trench. No wardrobe is complete without one. The tradition double breasted trench made popular by Burberry is still a classic but I think the style has evolved over the last few years and there is definitely a more floaty dreamy kind of feel to the trench coat now. I'm a fan of the loose floaty trenches and I bought a Full Circle one last year in the sale . It has been such a beautiful basic, bringing a lot of my outfits together... I couldn't be with out it now !

Zara - flowing trench £79.99

Zara- Trench £ 69.99

Full circle - £67.50

Perfect 10
Your beautiful basics

SEVEN: The Jersey basics. The T.Shirt is the hardest working piece in every woman's wardrobe. It's about slinky silk cotton mixes that lend themselves to easy layering day or night.

Cos - silk mix tshirt £19

J crew - classic tee  now £20.58

Cos and Jcrew are my favourite destinations for the perfect tee !

Styling tip: These jersey basics are the key item in your wardrobe that need updating each season. As these hard working t.shirts show their wear and tear much more easily  it's important to spend time up dating your tee's regularly to inject a smart, fresh look to your style ..... and just having the right shade of colour each season will bring all your clothes together.

Perfect 10
Your beautiful basics

SIX: The Blazer. Over the decades shoulders rise and fall but it still remains a true sartorial classic, guaranteed to sharpen your look.
Ever since I watched Pretty Woman, in the end scene where you see her simple outfit of jeans and a blazer with that tumbling brunette hair I wanted to steal that look...perfection !

Zara is the place I go to get my on trend blazer each season.

Zara - Jacquard blazer £69.99

 Zara £79.99

Zara  £49.99

STYLING TIP: Don't spend a lot on a blazer as the cuts and styles change quite quickly so just buy cheap and up date every season to bring your looks together .
