eighty seventh ST 

Came across this Illustrator on instagram the other day and immediately loved her images. The brand eighty seventh ST was created in 2009 by the illustrator Monica Smiley and is a chic brand of hand illustrated greeting cards with a high fashion edge. She did some great images at fashion week of  all the famous fashionistas in the industry. 

When I took a look at her website I was pleased to see she uses locally produced card with an environmentally focused ethos, a hard thing to do in this day and age. Everyone wants things cheap and quickley and sometimes this doesn't help individuals with a specialist craft, to make a living. I think the more we can encourage and promote these gifted and talented people, supporting local peoples crafts this will help stamp out the big corporate companies that squash these talents from flourishing
